We Were Soldiers (2002)
The story follows a Lieutenant Colonel as he prepares and leads the first battalion of the US Army's newly formed air cavalry unit into its first major battle in the Vietnam War. The film depicts the brutal and bloody conflict in the Ia Drang Valley from the perspective of the soldiers on the ground and the wives they left behind at home, waiting for news.
