Woman Walks Ahead (2017)
Based on a true story, a widowed artist from New York City travels to Dakota Territory in the 1890s to paint a portrait of the famous Sioux leader, Sitting Bull. She faces hostility from the U.S. Army and many locals who oppose her mission. She develops a deep, respectful relationship with Sitting Bull and his people, witnessing the events leading up to the Wounded Knee massacre.
